August Meetup

Posted July 12, 2010

The August meetup will take place on the August 4th from 7:00 till 10:30 or so, in the brewmasters room at the Longwood Brewpub. As usual there is an event on facebook, please RSVP if you use facebook so we have an idea how many people will be attending!

I've had some people ask if these meetings are for "members" or if anyone can just drop by - to clarify, Outdoor Vanisle is a community, not a club or group, so there is no membership - these events are open to anyone and everyone. Drop by and meet some new people!

VI Spine Relay Finale

Posted June 23, 2010

The VI Spine Trail Relay is wrapping up this weekend Clover Point, so if you are in the area or are looking for something to do on Sunday, head down to Victoria and support the VI Spine Trail and the relay participants!

There will be free food and coffee, great speakers including John Luton, Gil Parker and Denise Savoie, games and crafts for kids and a natural history walk through Beacon Hill Park to Mile Zero to mark the end of this month-long relay and to celebrate the importance of nature and trails in our communities!

More information about the VI Spine Relay is available on their website.

Mount Arrowsmith Management Planning

Posted June 22, 2010

The RDN, in partnership with Hupacasath First Nation, the Alpine Clubs of Canada and the Federation of Mount Clubs of BC, is preparing a First Management Plan for Mount Arrowsmith Massif Regional Park.

They are doing an analysis of how the park is used by the public to help them with their planning, so if you use the park you should take a couple minutes and fill out their survey! The more they know about how it's being used, the better than can plan.

Outdoor Vanisle Hoodies

Posted June 18, 2010

We are thinking of getting some hoodies made with the Outdoor Vanisle logo embroidered on it and figured before we order we would check to see if anyone else is interested in picking up a hoodie! Prices will depend on volume, but it will be somewhere around $40-$60 per hoodie.

They will be available in any size and in the colors shown on the sample image. If you are interested send me an email at jerrett+ovi@gmail.com

We also have some car decals if anyone is interested, we'll have them to hand out at the next meetup :)
